    Attached on the front of this Zippo lighter is solid Brass Overlay Insignia which resembles the US Army Europe shoulder patch from WWII stating "D-Day Normandy 50 years 1944-1994
    The black crackle finish was first introduced in WWII, due to the shortage and to cut back on metal usage and every serviceman was issued a Black Crackle Zippo Lighter.
    Inscribed on the underside of the lid on this Commemorative Tin is the letter that General Dwight D. Eisenhower wrot to the servicemen before embarking on D-Day.
