Description
Very good sounding, rare model French violin, made by Laberte c1930 in Mirecourt, 2 labels : Benoit Fleury... and A la ville Cremone. It is one of upper range Laberte instruments, you can find that model in catalogues of 1927 and 1931, in a "
A la ville Cremone"
section of their better models as copies of old masters , carefully chosen tonewoods, varnish specially heavy made antique, etc. As you can see on copy of Laberte catalogue page I added, it costed more than 400 franks, it was really good money! In modern Euros different calculations ask you to multiple by 15-20 times at least. So 6000-8000 Euros now...
In a excellent shape for
its
age ,just slight signs of intense professional use, some chips to varnish, but varnish overall quite good preserved, missing small chip on table side (see photos). No cracks!
Very good sound and excellent power and projection, good setup, fully ready to play professionally, check video recording to feel the sound. We decided to change original small chinrest to more regular one (not seen yet on photos). Was in
possession
of young and very talented player, who made an serious upgrade at our shop, leaving his violin as part of payment.
Bow and brand new case included, if your offer will meet our expectations.
We recently tested it in a big Symphony Hall and of course it was able to fill that room easily. The sound is porwerful, very balanced and with lots of shades of many colours.
