Description
Mawata or Silk Hankies come from a degummed cocoon and then are stretched onto a square frame where it gets its form. It can be spun by stretching the hankie into a big loop and pulling as thin as you want. Incredible for nuno felting, just place them on top of your design before felting to get a cobweb effect. Don't forget to iron your project to maximize the sheen of the silk. Also, it cam be used for knitting without the need of spinning it first. Just stretch and knit it!Undyed Silk Hankies

People often ask how many hankies are in 1 oz, hankies are hard to count, because they tend to stick to each other and they are thin as tissue paper. There is not a perfect answer to this.
