Description
A rare opportunity to acquire a piece of history - original in-service equipment from the RMS Queen Mary ship. When the Queen Mary was acquired by the City of Long Beach after its final voyage there in 1967, the ship was stripped of much of its original equipment that was later sold to the public. Afterwards the ship underwent a complete restoration, and was converted into a hotel and public space. It remains in Long Beach today, a popular tourist attraction and destination. This is an original bilge pump from the ship that my father purchased from an antique store in Long Beach in the late 1960's. It is especially notable, because the face of the pump has the name of the ship "Queen Mary" to authenticate its origin. It was made into a lamp, and it is a functioning lamp and was recently repaired.
For the collector of ship memorabilia, this would be an incredibly rare, special addition to your collection.
If purchased the item will be professionally packed and fully insured, the cost of which will be determined by the buyers destination - that will be confirmed once it is sold, but will not exceed 0.
