    Description

Beautiful, clear and highly detailed photograph by Priestley & Sons, Ltd., Merseyside photographers of Liverpool depicting Cunard's beautiful and short-lived R.M.S. LACONIA of 1912. She and her sister ship, FRANCONIA, were built to transport passengers and cargo from Liverpool to Boston which they did until the outbreak of World War I. Both ships were casualties of this conflict; the FRANCONIA was lost to a German u-boat in the Mediterranean in October, 1916 and the LACONIA was torpedoed the following February off the coast of Ireland.
