1971 Lady Lavery 5 pound banknote REDUCED

Description

This is a much loved 5 pound Lady Lavery banknote from the Bank of Ireland.
It is dated January 18, 1971 and the serial number is 35A461256. This is the note you would receive.
Lady Lavery was the wife of William Lavery, who was commissioned to design these new banknotes in 1928.  They were to showcase the beauty of Ireland, its waterways, music and industry.  He decided to honor his wife by including her in all his design themes.
These notes are no longer in circulation but have become very desirable among collectors.
This note is just shy of 50 years old but it still holds its own with a few minor blemishes. The top margin has a slight tear of about 1/2 mm and there is a purple ink  squiggle to the left on the top margin.  On the back someone wrote the number 25 in red ink and you can see where the ink bled through faintly on the top margin.
The note itself is flat and a bit dirty with some ripples, but nothing unusual for a note this age. It certainly doesn't look like it was washed or pressed.
