This is a
beautiful historic
note that is
over 147 years old
and in great shape for its age!
This note was issued from July 14, 1869 through February 16, 1875 and is known as fractional currency.  It features The Head of
"Edwin M. Stanton
", who was the Secretary of War under President Lincoln, and a BIG
RED
SEAL on the front. The bottom front states, "Receivable for all United States Stamps" and the bottom back states "American Bank Note Co N.Y."
